If
you find your mind wanders when there's
work to
be done Or your thinking's mighty
dark when
you're out in the sun If you're
thinking
that your life is soon about to fail
You are
probably on the wrong end of the
"Gotta
Have Hope Scale."
Oh the
"Gotta Have Hope Scale" is the
measure
of our life It tells us if we're winning in
the real
world's strife Or it tells us that the struggle
is
not going well When you see you're
near the
bottom of the
"Gotta
Have Hope Scale."
Sometime
it just ain't easy to keep the pressure on
To pull
the broken pieces up where they sure belong
So sometimes
we must turn around, get
a kick
in the tail To get us on the upside of the
"Gotta
Have Hope Scale."
And that's
no fun we all agree, to have
to face
this fact That without some real hard
work we
might not make it back From down
around the bottom, below where whale poop sails
Down at
the very bottom of the
"Gotta
Have Hope Scale."
So you
take a big, deep breath; dig down
deep in
your soul and do it mighty fast,
before
you get too old to remember that its
your life,
if you want to let it fail
Cause you
spent too much time thinking on
the wrong
end of the scale.
So "As
the World Turns" so do we,
Just take
another try Spread your wings,
grab the
air, reach upward toward the sky
Just think
about how great it feels as
through
the air you sail And count the
numbers
as they rise up along the scale.
Then when
you get things back up where they
should
belong When tears and aggravation
become
a happy song Don't let your
mind
wander back down along the trail
To
the depths of desperation on the
"Gotta Have
Hope Scale."
